Breytenbach’s research interests focus on geographic information systems and remote sensing applications.
Breytenbach holds an MSc in geographic information systems (GIS) (cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch. He joined the CSIR in 2007 as a GIS specialist and is currently a senior researcher contributing to the geo-informatics and space research domain, focusing on geographic information systems and remote sensing. His capabilities extend to quantitative land surface analysis (geomorphometry) and advanced image classification, global positioning systems, geo-statistical analysis and planning support systems.
