The Department of Science and Innovation’s National Research Big Data Strategy advances the goals of the National System of Innovation and strategic priorities of other related national plans. The strategy gives effect to the national agenda of accelerating the development of human capital (HC) that underpins entrepreneurship and builds a competitive digital economy that links the public, private and academic sectors of the country.
The National Integrated Cyberinfrastructure System, which is managed by the CSIR, is already implementing prioritised activities such the development of expert HC and the deployment of advanced cyberinfrastructures. Further activities include fostering closer collaboration with the private and public sectors towards achieving a more capable state and a more inclusive digital economy.
