A logistics accountability scorecard to restore confidence in SA’s logistics capability
The Logistics Accountability Score promotes transparency and performance across key corridors. The web-based tool monitors the behaviour of logistics corridor users and encourages practices that support smooth flows in the corridor. Launched by the CSIR and industry partners, the tool is a performance-based assessment for transport operators, cargo owners and logistics partners. It focuses on cargo owner responsibility, customs efficiency, transit adherence, vehicle compliance and driver behaviour. It has been piloted on the N4 Maputo corridor, a key mineral export route where the system evaluates compliance at each stage, ensuring safer roads and more efficient processes.
Capabilities
We have expertise in industrial engineering, information systems management and development, operations research and economic modelling. These skills are applied to develop integrated logistics and supply chain platforms, develop decision models such as freight flow models and accountability scores and analyse and optimise systems and supply chains, such as corridor simulation models, facility location models and national network optimisation models.
