MMP hosts a mining technology and innovation showcase event

On Monday, 18 November 2024, the Mandela Mining Precinct (MMP) an entity of the Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation (DSTI)  hosts the 2024 Mining Technology and Innovation Showcase event at the CSIR International Convention Centre.

On Monday, 18 November 2024, the Mandela Mining Precinct (MMP) an entity of the Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation (DSTI)  hosts the 2024 Mining Technology and Innovation Showcase event at the CSIR International Convention Centre. Themed "Accelerating Mining RDI: Integrating Research Excellence with Mining Innovation," the event will spotlight mining modernisation tools, solutions, and people-centred approaches to technological change, along with human capital development initiatives. A key highlight will be the showcasing of innovative local and global technologies that create “glass-rock” environments to support mining development and technology adoption in South Africa’s mining sector.

The event will also feature various breakaway sessions, an engaging panel discussion and keynote addresses by the Deputy Director-General for the Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation Dr Mmboneni Muofhe, CSIR CEO Dr Thulani Dlamini, as well as Senior Executive of Modernisation and Safety at the Minerals Council South Africa, Sietse Van Der Woude.
