Monique Le Roux has more than a decade of experience as a senior engineer. She joined the CSIR in February 2022 and works in energy systems under the Energy Research Centre.  Le Roux has worked on several prominent energy projects that dealt with network development planning for load forecasting, and distributed generation in the Eastern Cape, as well as network development planning in the Western Cape and Northern Cape. She is currently working on a CSIR/Eskom collaborative project on the planning of operating grids with high shares of variable renewable energy across Africa.
