The CSIR Information Services (CSIRIS) mandate is to enable CSIR Research Development & Innovation (RD&I) by providing relevant and trusted data, information and knowledge management services that allow access to information, facilitate knowledge creation and sharing, and contribute to the preservation of the organisation's intellectual assets.

CSIRIS plays an important role in enabling CSIR researchers to conduct innovative research through the provision of specialised information services that include seamless access to both electronic and print resources. As a knowledge organisation, the CSIR not only acquires and develops knowledge, it also actively disseminates knowledge to a broader external market.
