Naidoo has a PhD in biological sciences from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Her key competencies are in forestry and climate change research, with a focus on adaptation strategies. Naidoo’s current research includes assessing and developing adaptation strategies for plantation and natural forests in southern Africa to deal with projected changes in climate, and the evaluation of interactions between climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies using integrated assessment techniques to support sustainable urban development in South Africa.
