Dr Zanele Ntshidi
Dr Ntshidi is a water resources professional natural scientist. Her research interests are in plant water use monitoring and modelling, agricultural water management and groundwater monitoring.

The CSIR expert has extensive experience in water science, specifically water resource management, and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society and a Certified Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat.) with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions, in the water resource science category.
Dr Ntshidi has been playing a massive role at the CSIR, managing various large research projects, including developing and testing a smart phone application for predicting crop water requirements in apple orchards, monitoring groundwater at Atlantis historic landfill, monitoring water use and yield of selected indigenous fruit tree crops, quantifying the water saving benefits of shadenet technologies in irrigated orchards, developing a crop factors database to improve water resource management in irrigated agriculture, and developing a decision support system for water use efficiency in the agricultural sector.
Expertise: Plant water monitoring and modelling, analysing hydrological patterns, geographic information systems, project management, water quality assessments and geohydrological monitoring.
