Simiyu’s research interest includes climate change, emissions reduction, energy optimisation and solar photovoltaics.
He served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Pretoria from 2018 to 2019 before joining the CSIR in February 2021. At the CSIR, his work focuses on designing and implementing models and algorithms to enable the successful deployment of edge intelligent systems for transactive energy in smart grids.
Dr Lysko’s research includes networking, antennas, radio propagation, 5G/6G and dynamic spectrum access – especially television white spaces (TVWS).
Theron has expertise in the fields of molecular biology, cell culturing, bio-assay development and drug discovery. Her research interest is physiology, biochemistry and pharmacology of malaria parasites. She is also interested in drug discovery for potential transmission blocking agents against malaria.
