Ramokolo focuses on the integration and diagnostics of high-power beam delivery systems. He has been involved in the optical characterisation, assembly, and testing of the Aeroswift laser system as well as a new-generation fingerprint sensing technology that uses optical coherent tomography.
Ramokolo contributed to the development of a high-power laser system (5KW) for the manufacturing of titanium parts. He has extensive knowledge in fine optics and its applications, including technologies used in the CoroCAM camera range, used to visualise corona discharge on power distribution networks. Ramokolo is the technical manager of the CSIR’s Photonics Prototyping Facility. He is involved in the commissioning and maintenance of laser systems at various Universities across the country under National Programmes. He mentors technicians and researchers at various levels.
Expertise: High-power laser beam delivery systems for additive manufacturing and opto-mechanical integration and assemblies.
