Mutemwa’s research interests lie in cybersecurity threat, risk and governance of information technologies in order to allow business to continue to do business even when a cybersecurity breach has occurred.

Muyowa Mutemwa, holds a master’s Degree (magister scientiae) in Computer Science from the University of the Western Cape, Masters: Magister Scientiae. He joined the CSIR in 2015 and plays role in technically leading the CSIR cybersecurity project with the City of Johannesburg on behalf of the CSIR. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed papers, most recently on effects cybersecurity and covid-19 working from home on organisations’ ability to continue to do business. Muyowa Mutemwa also mentors junior resource within the CSIR and outside the CSIR.
