Dr Yolandy Lemmer
Lemmer’s research interests lie in the development of an actively targeted nano-based therapeutic for poverty-related diseases and the development of a point-of-care tuberculosis diagnostic tool.

Lemmer leads CSIR research on active drug targeting and diagnostics. She holds a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Pretoria. She was appointed senior researcher in the polymers and composites research group in 2011. She has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed papers.
Lemmer serves on the Steering Committee for NanoFar+ (International Network in Nanomedicine). She is also a panel member of the National Research Foundation for the continued funding in Thuthuka and the Institutional Research Development Programme for the biotechnology, biochemistry and microbiology fields.
