The CSIR congratulates Tendani Tsedu, Group Manager: Strategic Communication, for being recognised as an Accredited Public Relations practitioner (APR) by the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA).

The accreditation is also recognised by the South African Qualification Authority, and it is the highest designation that can be achieved in the Public Relations and Communication Management industry at PRISA.

The APR credential certifies one’s drive, professionalism, and principles, setting them apart from peers and positioning them as a leader and mentor in the competitive public relations field. It also asserts professional competence, communicates professional expertise, plus personal and professional dedication and values and reflects progressive public relations industry practices and high standards.

Tsedu is proud to take his professional expertise to this level and considers it a personal, professional and CSIR win. “I believe it’s important to continue my professional development for the public relations and communication profession and align that to my role at the CSIR. Earning this APR credential is an honour for myself and my organisation, especially as it’s from PRISA, which is truly a respected professional body,” he said.

“This accreditation also opens up learning opportunities through the courses that are offered by PRISA, therefore I will be able to learn and grow professionally which will make me a better leader to my colleagues at Strategic Communications,” Tsedu added.
