Lefophane has a wide background in automatic identification and data capture technologies. He joined the CSIR in 2012 and plays a leading role in developing radio frequency identification and authentication technologies, with applications in identity management and access control. He also has a strong research and development focus on embedded systems, compliance testing of smart tokens and Internet of Things. Furthermore, he has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and presented his research at several international and national conferences.
