Peta de Jager is a registered professional architect and functional building infrastructure impact area manager in the Smart Places Cluster at the CSIR. Peta holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master’s degree in Applied Ethics for Professionals from the University of Witwatersrand. Her research interests include health and the built environment, engineering and design approaches to infection transmission and mitigation, climate responsive design, implementation support to government and capacity development.

De Jager obtained a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Witwatersrand, followed by a Master’s degree in Applied Ethics for Professionals. She joined the CSIR in 2007 and is a research group leader specialising in building design and engineering, particularly for social infrastructure.
