Research interests lie in sustainable smart pavement technology, fracture energy pavement damage prediction models using embedded sensors, sustainable innovative pavement materials and inclusive smart transportation systems.
Thomalla’s area of interest lies in understanding the biological carbon pump through measurements of phytoplankton community structure and primary production, and interpreting these data in terms of their physical and biogeochemical control mechanisms.
Dr Davies’ research interests lie in biodiversity science, understanding ecological processes and management of impacts in social-ecological systems, such as invasive alien organisms.
Naidoo’s current research includes assessing and developing adaptation strategies for plantation and natural forests in southern Africa to deal with projected changes in climate.
